Commissioner Jason Ohrt began serving as Precinct 2 Victoria County Commissioner in 2023. As a well-rooted resident of the community, both personally and professionally, Ohrt sees the County Commissioner position as a way to give back to the county he holds in high regard.
Commissioner Ohrt graduated from Victoria Stroman High School in 1990 and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston-Victoria in 1998. Ohrt is Vice-Chairperson for the Victoria Central Appraisal District Board and is part of the Gulf Bend Center Board of Trustees. He is also a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with the State of Texas. With deep experience in business management, he currently serves as Executive Director of Vitality Court Assisted Living here in Victoria, where he oversees operations for a team of over 70 employees. Ohrt brings years of financial expertise to county operations and believes in planning effectively for the future. Among his top priorities is ensuring county roads and bridges are well maintained.
Ohrt lives in Mission Valley with his wife, Marigayle, and has two children, Dylan and Megan. He is active in our community with the Victoria Rotary Club and the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, and is proud to serve the people of Precinct 2.
